DURHAM, N.C., Nov. 1, 2018 – Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club and JB Duke Hotel, father and son premier AAA Four Diamond luxury properties located on the campus of Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, are hosting a series of events this holiday season, including events to create the perfect ambiance for Thanksgiving, afternoon tea, Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Along with the holiday events, each property will be offering special holiday stay packages which offer guest a special seasonal getaway from Friday, Nov. 23 through Wednesday, Jan. 2. The JB Duke Hotel’s Holiday Traditions Package includes: overnight accommodations, breakfast for two in MarketPlace, complimentary overnight valet parking, welcome amenity and late check-out at 1 p.m.
The Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club’s Holiday Traditions Package includes: deluxe overnight accommodations, breakfast for two in Vista Restaurant, complimentary overnight valet parking, welcome amenity, turndown service and late check-out at 1 p.m.
JB Duke Hotel Holiday Events
JB Jazz Nights
When: Recurring each Thursday from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
Where: The Lobby Lounge at the JB Duke Hotel
What: Get jazzed up for the upcoming holiday season, every Thursday, as the JB Duke Hotel hosts its Jazz series, “JB Jazz Club.” The series features John Brown, director of Duke’s Jazz Program, and other members of the John Brown Band of Musicians – as well as delicious eats and drinks.

Christmas Day – Family Style Brunch and Dinner

What: Take a break from singing carols around the Christmas tree by enjoying a family style brunch and dinner spread in MarketPlace. Our culinary team will be serving up a delicious spread that features: carved ham, beef and turkey accompanied by an array of seasonal side dishes. Santa isn’t the only one who can enjoy sweets during the holidays, so be sure to save room for the various desserts options our team has carefully prepared.

Bubbles Dinner

In partnership with Empire Distributors, this exclusive culinary event will feature five exceptional champagnes – including Lombard, Taittinger, Veuve Clicquot, Moët and Krug Grande Cuvée – paired to perfection with Executive Chef Jason Cunningham's tantalizing multi-course menu. Prepare to have your taste buds tickled and prepped for the upcoming holiday season festivities to come.

What: Embrace the spirit of the holiday season by continuing to give thanks to those near and dear faithful friends during afternoon tea in the Fairview Dining Room. Adults will also have the option to enhance tea service with a glass of bubbly, for added holiday cheer.
