Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club Launches Weekend Programming Series: “Summer Saturdays” at the Inn
Overnight guests provided with complimentary weekend yoga and stargazing activities to enhance their comfortable stay in the unrivaled Bull City
DURHAM, N.C., August 1, 2022 – The AAA Four Diamond Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club is celebrating the summer season with a new, weekly programming series happening every Saturday now through October 29. The two events, Saturday Morning Yoga and Saturday Evening Stargazing, provide overnight guests the opportunity to flow into the morning restored and connected to their inner selves while ending the day taking in the wonders of the Durham night sky.
Claudín Mangum, a certified yoga instructor and co-owner of Trilogy Yoga, directs a dynamic, hour-long yoga class, incorporating various strength, flexibility and breathing exercises. The yoga class takes place on the Inn’s Lower Terrace on the Green every Saturday at 8 a.m., inviting guests ages 16+ to take in the fresh, morning air while overlooking the Inn’s beautiful grounds. Trilogy Yoga was founded in 2020 by Mangum and her twin sister, Lucinda Smith, as a welcoming space to explore and practice yoga with others in the Triangle.
Just beyond the Fairview Dining Room patio, the Chapel Hill Astronomical and Observational Society (CHAOS) astronomers lead an out-of-this-world experience Saturday evenings at 9 p.m. Attendees have the opportunity to engage one-on-one with the astronomy experts to broaden their knowledge and explore a telescope view of the sky’s picturesque constellations.
The Vista Restaurant and Fairview Dining Room are currently accepting reservations for those interested in pairing the programming events with a delectable dining experience. Guests are also encouraged to explore the nearby Al Buehler trail, play the award-winning, 18-hole Duke University Golf Course or purchase a bucket of balls for the driving range.
In addition to the Summer Saturday offerings, the Inn and JB Duke Hotel are now, through October 2, offering a summer package stay that includes a tour of the nearby Duke Lemur Center and a one-year symbolic adoption for the care of an endangered lemur at Duke's world-renowned facility. Reservations for the Adopt a Lemur Package are required 48 hours in advance and are based on availability.
